Banana Ice Cream Recipe

January 24, 2012 by Nia Shanks

I heard about “single ingredient banana ice cream” a while ago, but don’t remember where. Having several ripe bananas, I decided to give it a try.

All you do is cut up some ripe bananas and throw them in the freezer for a few hours. Once frozen, toss them in a food processor and blend on high until the consistency is that of ice cream.

Scoop into a bowl, eat, and enjoy!

To jazz it up a little bit you can include some of the following additions (thanks to those on the Beautiful Badass Fanpage for some of the recommendations!):

  • Dark chocolate (I use 85% extra dark chocolate and crumble it on top)
  • Cinnamon and vanilla extract
  • Coconut milk
  • Almond butter or peanut butter
  • Mixed berries

I’m sure you can come up with some other great add-ons as well.
